We are looking for a Part-time clerk:

The alert Bay Library and Museum is a non-profit organization serving residents of Alert Bay offering wide collection of fiction, non-fiction, First Nation reference and local interest books. The museum has artifacts and displays reflecting the history of the area. The archive collection includes over 8000 historic photographs and material about local history and families who have resided here. The upstairs area is open for researchers and residents to access the extensive book collection of the late Dr. Marty Weinstein, who had specialized in First Nation rights and environmental planning.

The library is looking for an individual who has some of the following skills:

  • familiarity with computers and a willingness to learn specialized data bases
  • basic bookkeeping and accounting
  • library experience an asset
  • ability and willingness to assist local residents and visitors about the library, museum, and computers


Hours of work and pay

12 hours a week from September to June, with the possibility of additional hours in the summer.

Rate of pay is negotiable
